Mr. Pitts - District Teacher of the Year Thumbnail Image
Dr. Pitts demonstrated signs of becoming an influential teacher and leader in the profession and in his community. From his first-year teaching assignment in rural Holmes County, Mississippi in 1993 to his current assignment in the Jasper County School District (2015-current), Dr. Pitts has maintained a driven, sustained work ethic and passion for academic excellence amongst his students and colleagues for many, many years. His unconventional style of teaching is cited with traditional instructional methodologies intermixed with theatrics, music, and over-the-top props.

Boozer headed to Indian River State College Thumbnail Image
Boozer signed a full basketball scholarship to Indian River State College (IRSC) located in Fort Pierce Florida. Boozer heads to Indian River State College with twelve college credits added to her academic record. While attending RHHS, she was dually enrolled in the Early College Credit Opportunity program at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Boozer plans to major in Business Management.

The cost to attend Charleston Southern University, including tuition, room, board and books, is $37,000 per year.
Carmen Hamilton, a recent graduate of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School, has received 10 scholarships that will cover those expenses for all four years. She was named an inaugural Reverend Pinckney Scholars Program winner, which is a scholarship of up to $10,000 each year for four years.
Coach Faber excited about summer hoops sessions Thumbnail Image
Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys basketball coach Jeremiah Faber is pleased with the progress of his team this summer.
After making the Class AA state championship game two seasons ago and being ranked No. 1 in the state and reaching the third round of the playoffs last season, Faber anticipates continued success despite the climb to Class AAA.
Coach Nelson seeks commitment Thumbnail Image
Ridgeland-Hardeeville High football coach Jahmaal Nelson is excited about the Jaguars’ upcoming football season. Nelson recently held summer workout sessions Tuesdays through Thursdays.
The sessions involved hitting the weights, learning the plays, and determining who plays what position. Nelson said an average of 15 players consistently turned out.
