Description
The students in Mrs. Butler's classes engaged in a lesson concerning safety in the workplace and school. As various emergency situations unfold in schools and the workplace, we need to be prepared to respond in the safest way possible in order to guarantee the best chances of survival.  The students researched and discussed safety procedures that would be used if an active shooter came into the school.   The students completed a PowerPoint presentation listing a set of guidelines for "Active Shooter in the Building".  The final discussion concluded that each situation is unique and adjustments should be made accordingly.

Students will use the online Microsoft Office Application for I.B.A.I to complete Excel Module 2 Sam Training in MindTap. The students will complete Excel Module 2 Project 1 and  Excel Module 2 Project 2 in MindTap. Students will complete an Excel assessment,  Early completers will go to PowerPoint Module 1 Sam Training and complete the task list for "Observation" and "Practice".  The students have access to online resources such as flashcards, the E-Book, video lessons and practice activities.

Word Document Formatting

Objective:  Students will be able to use a variety of formatting options  to create business documents.  
 
The students will created  various documents using the Microsoft Office Word project steps in MindTap.  Students will create documents with pictures files and modify the pictures and text in the documents.  Students will submit the completed projects into MindTap for final grading.  The results will be generated in a report with the students' scores and items that need to be corrected. Students will have at least three opportunities to increase the project scores by making necessary corrections and resubmitting the project.

Students will list seven or more general guidelines/duties for Customer Service Representatives.  Students will share their lists with a peer to analyze the selected guidelines.  The teacher created names for various industries/professions for students to randomly select.  Students selected an industry/profession and reviewed their original customer service guidelines/duties to analyze whether or not their listed guidelines would be appropriate for the selected industry/profession. 

Based on their analysis, students will create a brochure for Customer Service Representative guidelines for the selected industry/profession.  Students will include at least three pictures to enhance the appearance of their brochure.   Sources will be cited.  

The teacher demonstrated the steps needed to create a brochure and students brainstormed to make a list of duties/guidelines for Customer Service Representatives.  Their brainstorming results were placed on the Aquos board by several student volunteers.   A brochure sample was provided for students.
