Integrated Business Applications I (Period 1A)

Course Description

Students will list seven or more general guidelines/duties for Customer Service Representatives.  Students will share their lists with a peer to analyze the selected guidelines.  The teacher created names for various industries/professions for students to randomly select.  Students selected an industry/profession and reviewed their original customer service guidelines/duties to analyze whether or not their listed guidelines would be appropriate for the selected industry/profession. 

Based on their analysis, students will create a brochure for Customer Service Representative guidelines for the selected industry/profession.  Students will include at least three pictures to enhance the appearance of their brochure.   Sources will be cited.  

The teacher demonstrated the steps needed to create a brochure and students brainstormed to maked a list of duties/guidelines for Customer Service Representatives.  Their brainstorming results were placed on the Aquos board by several student volunteers.   A brochure sample was provided for students.

CATE Advisory Council Committee Meeting 4-26-18

The CATE Advisory Council Committee Meeting will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018, beginning at 3:00 p.m.  All potential business partners should contact Mrs. D. Butler at 843-489-8844. Our goal is to always connect to the workplace and to provide skills that are relevant.  CATE provides skills that will last forever.

Parent Conference Night - April 25, 2018

Parent Conference Night will begin at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on April 25, 2018.  Students and parents are encouraged to attend.  Progress reports will be given to parents at that time.  

CATE - Relevance and Connectivity

Students in Mrs. Butler's CATE classes engage in completing projects that ae realistic and relevant for the workplace.  Projects include formatting business documents using business standards, budgeting and finance projects using Excel, marketing projects for advertisements, and basic office procedures.  Students are encouraged to save their projects for future use and to create a portfolio of their work.  Many students have used their saved projects for college assignments and work.   CATE is preparing our students for careers.   

Saturday School - Seat Time 3-10-2018

Students who need to make up seat time due to excessive absences are encouraged to attend Saturday School on March 10, 2018 beginning at 8:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. 
 
Bring assignments to complete.
Bring your lunch or snacks. 

Calendar/Planner Project

Standards:
The students will be able to develop and manage an electronic office calendar. 
 
Assignment:  Students will create a calendar/planner for March 2018 - December 2018.  Students may work in pairs.  Special dates may be included.

Create a calendar/Planner for February 2018 –December 2018.  

Include national holidays and special school events already planned.  

Include large sections to record time and location. 

Include each Month at the top of the page.  Be creative. You may work in pairs.
