Gloria Pinckney » Welcome

Students and

Hello! My name is Gloria Pinckney and I teach Chemistry and Biology at Ridgeland Hardeeville High School. I grew up in Hollywood, South Carolina, graduated from Baptist Hill High School, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Charleston Southern University and a master’s degree at Troy State University.  Before coming to Jasper County, I taught Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Science at Savannah Early College where I served as Science Department Chair for seven years.  I am currently serving as Science Department Chair for Ridgeland Hardeeville High School as well.  I am married to the world’s best husband, have two children, and 5 grandchildren.  I love traveling.  I have been to 6 countries, 36 states, and countless cities.  My dream vacation is to spend a few weeks exploring Kenya and enjoying their beautiful beaches.

Even though we are doing things differently this school year due to Covid-19 I am looking forward to an exciting school year.  We will be meeting everyday just as we did before the pandemic.  The only difference is we will not be meeting in person, we will meet virtually.  All students are expected to log in on time and be ready to learn.  Our instructional format has not changed.  We will follow the same agenda and all assignments should be completed on time.  Grades will be updated weekly on PowerSchool and I encourage you to check your progress frequently.  If you have any concerns about grades please email me at

I am looking forward to interacting with you virtually.
