Meet Mr. Chester
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
My name is Joe Chester and I am thrilled to serve the Jasper County School District this school year as a Mathematics Teacher. I am no stranger to the educational field coming with 20 years of experience in the secondary level and higher education classroom setting I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Voorhees College, earned my Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ashford University. My passion and love for teaching began at Hillcrest High School in Greenville, SC. My search for growth and enduring passion has brought me here to Jasper County Schools. I am happily married to Kathy A. Chester.
My philosophy is based on the belief that education is an important key to teach our students the fundamental skills necessary to live successful lives as confident and informed citizens. I believe that teaching is a highly rewarding profession that allows me to change the lives of students and to effectively provide them with the skills and attitudes necessary to navigate their career path through building their character and achieve success.
