Welcome Message from Dr. Marlyn Westbrook

Greetings and Welcome to the 2017-18 Academic School Year!

I am the newly appointed assistant principal of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School.  I am eager to meet all of the staff, parents and students within our school and community. I am truly grateful to be a part of the school district again and look forward to the exponential growth and success of our students.

I am a native of Orangeburg County, where I graduated with the class of 1985 of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, Bruins! I am a graduate of South Carolina State University and Nova Southeastern University. I also attended Armstrong State University, Savannah State University, and Georgia Southern University to obtain additional endorsements and certifications in my educational field. My Undergraduate Degree is in the field of Computer Science, a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education and an earned Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. I am endorsed in Online Teaching, Coaching, and Reading.  I am certified in Mathematics and Science. I have served in many capacities such as Assistant Principal, District Math Coach, District Math Program Manager, Title I School Improvement Specialist and College Instructor.  I have been an educator for over 20 years and am always looking for ways to learn exciting ideas to ignite teacher and student educational development.

I enjoy traveling, cooking and spending time with family. I am married to a wonderful husband, a retired engineer and second-career STEM educator. We have five children and four grandchildren that we love and cherish.

Please feel free to contact me, if you have questions concerning our school’s initiatives.

Professionally yours,

Dr. Marlyn D. Westbrook
