Principal - O'Randal Jackson
Greetings Parents, Students and Faculty! Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with each of you as we continue to create a safe environment for learning, and to provide “effective quality instruction that will enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills for all students.”
I look forward to leading a learning community conducive to preparing our students to compete globally in the 21 century as well as preparing our students for a smooth transition from high school into their post-secondary studies and/or into the world of work. I am an advocate of parental and community involvement; I believe the more we work together, the better we can prepare our students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.
I have worked diligently for the past six years as an Assistant Principal at West Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina where I coordinated a STEM Program which led to the school obtaining STEM Certification. I have a sound background in Guidance and School Counseling and ensured all students were aware of the requirements for a South Carolina High School Diploma. I worked closely with the Special Education Department Chair to ensure all students with disabilities were provided all mandated services required under the federal laws of IDEA. I also worked closely with the Behavioral Health Counselor to ensure all students were provided needed services or an outlet to deal with family, social or emotional issues.
Prior to my work at West Florence High School, I worked at Lee Central High School, Lee Central Middle School, and Lee Central Alternative School in Bishopville, South Carolina, as a Guidance Counselor and as an Administrative Assistant. I also worked at Hartsville Middle School in Hartsville, South Carolina, as an Assistant Principal.
I am a graduate of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master of Education in Secondary Guidance Counseling, Webster University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a Master of Education in Counseling, and Cambridge College in Augusta, Georgia with an Educational Specialist Degree.
I have an open-door policy and I invite each of you to visit me with your questions, concerns, or suggestions. I believe we all share a common goal: to provide all students a fair and equal education.
