Description

This course provides in-depth instruction in Microsoft Office applications that will lead to national certifications. The applications covered include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access (optional). Students will learn the features and benefits of the application program and apply their knowledge in various problem-based activities. In addition, students are engaged in applying key critical thinking skills and the practice of ethical and appropriate behavior for the responsible use of technology.

 OBJECTIVE: Given the necessary equipment, supplies, and appropriate software, the student will be able to successfully complete the standards necessary for national credentials.

Students will create a Reflections PowerPoint presentation.  The presentation will be a reflection of specific skills/information learned from the lessons.  Students are allowed to work in teams of threes or individually. A rubric was provided.  The number of slides will vary based on listed reflections.  A student sample has been uploaded.  The presentation will be used as a project replacement or extra project points.  Students will keep their projects as a personal reflection of what they learned during the first semester.

Students will follow step by step instructions/demonstrations, given by the teacher, for creating a PowerPoint presentation.  The students completed Module One SAM Project One for PowerPoint as a class and with the assistance of the teacher. The teacher demonstrated PowerPoint features on the Aquos board as students followed the step by step instructions.  Students will complete a "Career Plan" PowerPoint presentation.  A rubric has been provided for the "Career Plan"  presentation. 
 
MINDTAP PROJECT: Students will complete PowerPoint Module 2 Project 1 using the MindTap application. Students will have two opportunities to make corrections and resubmit for grading.
