About Us

Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence is committed to helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.  We take pride in our safe and nurturing learning environment and are committed to challenging our students daily.  Our instructional team engages in on-going, meaningful professional development focused on increasing student engagement, critical thinking and communication skills.  Our students are consistently exposed to a rigorous curriculum, research-based effective instructional practices, as well as resources and assessments that are aligned with the South Carolina State Standards.

At RSAE, we focus on the whole student, beginning with life and career skills. Through the collaborative efforts of the school guidance counselors and career development facilitators (CDF), our students are afforded the opportunity to experience career fairs, job shadow opportunities, service-learning projects, and job training workshops.  Through our CTE program offerings at Jasper County Career and Technical Education Center and Beaufort Jasper Academy of Career Excellence, our students are afforded the opportunity to seek certification in various occupational fields. 

We also have an ever-growing dual enrollment program that allows students to earn high school credit while simultaneously earning college credits. Our students rise to the challenge of balancing high school and college expectations and are consistently recognized on the Dean’s List.  This school year, we made history as we had students earn academic certificates in general education, math, ELA and liberal arts as well as associate degrees in liberal arts or science. 

With a robust athletic program in place, our students have excelled beyond the classroom in football, basketball, track and field, softball, baseball and soccer. Our athletic teams competed in region matches and our boys' soccer team finished their season as region champions.  In addition, through collaboration with community partners, our physical education department and JC CATE, our students are being exposed to the game of golf and turf and lawn maintenance. 

We strive to be a parent friendly school by treating all parents with respect and providing an “open door” policy for parents, guardians, and community stakeholders.
