Course Description:
This course will allow students to connect musical ideas and works to personal experience, careers, culture, history, and other disciplines. They will explore eras of music, from Renaissance to modern-day rock, through our Music Appreciation course. This series of brief digital and hands-on experience lessons also covers various types of music and prominent composers.
The lessons make learning fun and engaging by using various topics from how to read notes on a staff to identifying the roles in an opera. By the end of this course, you will have a greater knowledge and appreciation of the history, aesthetics, techniques, forms, and genres of all types of music.

The grading system for Music Appreciation at Ridgeland-Hardeeville High is as follows:
One-Semester (Fall or Spring Term)
1st quarter = 45% 3rd quarter = 45%
2nd quarter = 45% OR 4th quarter = 45%
Final Exam = 10% Final Exam = 10%
