We know the new Senior Portfolio Requirement may seem like a lot at first—but here’s the good news: you have already completed many of the requirements!
A large part of your portfolio is made up of documents, accomplishments, and experiences that you have already earned or completed as part of your high school pathway, CTE courses, college and career preparation, and school activities. You are not starting from scratch! There are also a few pieces that you will need to develop this year, including your cover letter, resume, personal statement, and documentation of your future plans. Think of your portfolio as a way to collect the evidence of everything you have accomplished—not another task you have to start from the beginning.
Throughout the year, you will have opportunities to add to your portfolio and make sure it reflects your accomplishments, your experiences, your strengths, and your plans for the future. Most importantly, this is your opportunity to be proud of what you have accomplished. Before you walk across the stage at graduation, you will have the chance to showcase the work, experiences, certifications, service, and achievements that helped prepare you for what comes next.
So, don't stress! Start with what you already have, identify what is missing, and take it one piece at a time. We are here to help you every step of the way. Your counselors and Career Development Facilitator will continue working with you throughout the year to help you complete your portfolio.
Your Story. Your Future. Your Portfolio.
Let's make sure your portfolio tells the story of the Jaguar you have become and the champion you are preparing to be.
