Teacher at board with students watching.Greetings Jaguar Scholars and Families!

My name is Dr. Tremble, and I am teaching US History, Economics and Personal Finance, and Government for the 2026-2027 school year. I consider it a privilege and an honor to serve as your teacher this year, and there is nothing I would rather do more. You, your family, and your scholars' education are my top professional priority. Let's go over three core beliefs that are central to understanding my professional personality.

Belief 1: Every student can learn. It doesn't matter where you start on day one of classes. Puede que estés aprendiendo inglés por primera vez. You might hate school and feel like it's a waste of your time. You might be a star student, normally challenging others for the top average in your classroom group. Your "entry level" should not define your "exit level." Wherever you start, your goal is to achieve content mastery in your subject area between now and June of 2027.

In US History, "mastery" looks like a score of 80% or above on the end-of-semester EOC, which would demonstrate a proficient ability to discuss the founding and development of America from the Colonial Era (1607-1763) until today.

In Economics and Personal Finance and Government, "mastery" looks like final exam scores of 80% or above, which would demonstrate a proficient ability to discuss foundational principles of economics, government, and their impact on our everyday lives.

Belief 2: Every minute matters. We will maximize class minutes by filling them with engaging, content-aligned materials and built in study, remediation, and enrichment opportunities. This means that we don't need homework to get the job done. That also means, however, that no time can be wasted. Every minute that we spend together in the classroom must be focused on meeting mastery goals as a team.
Three Core Beliefs
Belief 3: As long as there is time, there is time. Very few people enjoy the privilege of mastering new material the first time. That is why remediation, assignment retakes, and retests are built into my class structure. Any time that you make less than 80% on an assignment, you are entitled to feedback and another try to achieve mastery. The new assignment will likely not look the same as the previous one, but it will test the same material on the same academic level. You are free to keep trying, and keep receiving feedback until you are above the 80% mark (or at 100% if that's your preference.)

If you are interested in reading more about my teaching philosophy, you are welcome to pop over to the "Teaching Philosophy" tab and read more about the ideas at the core of my teaching style and commitment.

I am glad to have you on my team this year, and it is going to be a great one.

Sincerely,

Dr. T.
