WELCOME!!!! BIENVENIDAS!!!!
Welcome to the 21-22 academic year; my name is Dr. Paula Murphy and I am excited to be your College and Career Ready Dual Enrollment Coordinator for Jasper County School District. I come to you with a wealth of knowledge and experience and I am ready to share my gifts. I am a veteran educator and have been serving students, parents, and communities for over 23 years as I advocate for an equitable education for all students regardless of their ethnicity, learning ability, or social status. I have served as a Classroom Teacher, Master Teacher, Department Chair, Supplemental Education Director, Community Service Coordinator, Activity Director, and an Instructional Coach throughout my educational career.
I have taught in both middle and high school in several disciplines including math and science. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from South Carolina State University. Also, I have earned a Masters of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Phoenix University. I continued my educational journey with Aspen University with an emphasis in Higher Education and furthered my studies with Liberty University, earning both my Ed.S. and Ed.D in Educational Leadership. In addition, I have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement and Automaton and Robotic certificate through the University of South Carolina. Also, I obtained my Leadership certification from Lamar University and received STEM training through The Citadel.
As your College and Career Ready Dual Enrollment Coordinator, I plan to inspire and expose our youth to many opportunities to get a jump start on preparing them for the workforce and/or an opportunity to enroll in college courses while in high school. Students will be guided through multiple facets that will promote and foster an experience to enhance their future as productive citizens. This educational journey will also prepare students for realistic experiences they will encounter in the near future. I look forward to continue to offer educational experiences with impactful outcomes that will challenge, change, and prepare the students of Jasper County for a prosperous future. My personal motto is Live it! Love it! Learn it!
