Sheilah Y. Mervin
Greetings parents, students and stakeholders, Let me introduce myself to some and present myself to others. I am Sheilah Y. Mervin and I have been an educator in the Jasper County School District since the 1999 - 2000 school year. I am a native of Jasper County and theproud product of the public school system here in Jasper County. I am a graduate and member of Fighting Trojans Class of 1984 of THE Ridgeland High School. I went on to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. In 1989, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Secondary Education. I returned to my alma mater and completed my Master of Education degree in Special Education specializing in Learning Disabilities in 1998. I am the mother of 3 children all of them educated here in the Jasper County Public Schools. I began my teaching career at Ridgeland Elementary from 1999 and remained there until 2012. In the 2012-13 school year, I transferred to Ridgeland Hardeeville High School and I am still here. At RHHS my goal as an educator is to provide my students with skills that will enable them to successfully transition from school to the world of work.
