welcome back to the 2021-22 school year at ridgeland-hardeeville High School home of the Jaguars we are so excited about the new year and we want to share some information with you so you'll be well prepared for your successful year we have an open house agenda outline for you so that we will share all types of information beginning without welcome that we've had our vision mission and Michael statement Administration guide of our departments I'll support Personnel expectations event and to wrap it all up we will have a welcome back highlights video star vision and Mission ridgeland-hardeeville High School is striving to become a Premier High School of Excellence in here we will provide a safe an acceptable learning experience for students all of them to be successful a motto we are prepared today's Learners to be tomorrow's leaders exemplifying college and career-ready citizens b is all in and all means all tried tested and true we will leave no doubt for introduction of administration I am your principal Dr Marlin Westbrook I have with me your assistant principal Mr blade rally also we have our newcomer onboard mr. Stephen Sinclair assistant principal instruction as well as Beatrice Brown curriculum for silla Tater at this time we will have our celebration recognitions of our teacher of the year support staff of the Year and I love you teacher of the year these individuals nominated last year by their peers and they go as follow Nicole Parker is our teacher of the year for the 20 21 22 school year she is in English teacher we also have dr. Paula Murphy was a rookie teacher of the year she now serves as our dual enrollment coordinator also we have our support staff of the Year Gunnery Sergeant Anthony Quinn and he is our Junior ROTC see instructor now we will have Mr really share out all of our Personnel throughout our department mr. Seneca bains who serves our virtual administrator and director of student services mr. Dunham is our technology programs coordinator and mr. Voorhees as our systems support specialist Jasmine van is are instructional technology code and Miss Michelle ride is our Jasper County School District nurse coordinator in our guidance Department school counselor Miss Jacqueline murder all sources are 10th and 12th grade counselor dr. Paula Murphy will be our dual enrollment coordinator for the school year and Mr Calvin Simmons is are work-based learning coordinator and district career specialist our support staff that helps make everything run smoothly here at ridgeland-hardeeville High still has Michael is our bookkeeper Miss Herman Hernandez serves as our front office of parent liaison Ms Alvin is our data specialist Miss Lee is armedia Clarke Miss Deborah Gardner runs our credit repair Shayla Burnett and mr. James Daniel service job coaches for ridgeland-hardeeville high school and Sergeant Damien Deema and gunny sergeant Anthony Cuevas serves our JROTC instructors our support staff includes Mr Latham Miss Garvin Miss rudely Miss Garvin and is Beatrice Anderson our mathematics department is chaired by Mr a sorry we have Emory Mr Woodfin Miss Susan Johnson in our science department means injury will serve as our chairperson alongside Mr tumor in his bag on and Miss Brown our social studies Department nearby Mister wig bag and he is joined on his team by mr. kosher mr. Goodwin and Ms Bradley our special service department will be chaired by Ms she will be joined by massages mr. kuzu and Miss Nolan so here original heart of a high school after leader I am planning to empower encourage us to make oh that we put in the Forefront out Vision as well as our values we will be dedicated to Excellence and we will make great things happen for college and career-ready citizens now dress code parents we need your help we are preparing you for the business career world and their uniform standards for the majority of our all job so please let that here to our code of conduct as well as our dress code for our bottoms we will have khaki or black bottoms for our house we will have collared tops red orange and gray are black polo shirt we will not have any jogging pants any slides any flip-flops his beat or any of those sagging pants we want to make sure that our students are professionally but casually dressed in the school setting so we have that dress code in place and we will enforce the dress code for the 2021-22 school year at this time we'll have mr. Sinclair share out some information good afternoon so it is important for us to involve all of our parents in everything that we do at our school and it takes all of us to make sure that I still does have a successful experience so in order for that to happen we will meet monthly with each grade level and with that meeting we will discuss our topics for the success that we need one initiative we are implementing this year goes with our push persist until success happens. And it's during this time I'll teach her advisers will assist our students with their strip strengths and weaknesses that are 10 the gray van. pay rate in order to make sure that they are on the right track towards graduation and successful lives and also again as I say that we will need parental involvement to assist with this to the success it's going to take all of us in order to be successful with a device so some of the things that we need in order to make sure again that this is successful for everyone as we need to make sure they're all of us. getting to school on time for all of their classes and this is at 8:30 a.m. they attend all of their classes that's on the schedule complete all the timers and check email daily as that will be the prime primary form of communication from our teachers for students prepare for Greg course level testing and take advantage of prep and other resources that we may offer for them in order to help with that success take advantage of dual enrollment because we want to make sure all of our students are college and career-ready when they leave individual graduation plan by Jaffe conferences will be completed throughout the school year to 12th grade will be completed during the month of September eleventh grade during the month of October November we will try to Econo Lodge in the eleventh and Twelfth graders that we may not have completed during that timeframe December and January will focus on 10th grade February March in 9th grade and all I GPS will be finalized by the month of April last reminders check the email daily and complete the past stay on top of your academic studies be safe reach out to your car counselors or advise us if you need us we are here for you and that's very important for all of us to remember that we are here for you we are here to ensure that you have a positive experience and that you are successful in your study be patient if you're experiencing technology issues with stay on task use all of your options personal computer and laptop and then finally I know that we will call make home visits and track you down if we don't see you in class because we want all of our students to be on campus be engaged and be successful in everything that they do now we're going to really talk about the South Carolina high school diploma requirements this is different from elementary and middle at this point when you have entered into the high school you are earning Carnegie units for graduation and you need 24 Unit A Credit in order to graduate that means the English you need for unit map you need for unit science you need three units u.s. history 1 economics 1/2 US Government 1/2 unit and other social studies one unit you also I need your physical education or the ROTC course which is one unit of computer science course which is one unit foreign language or a cake class one unit and then you have the option of seven different elective for your gray level promotion requirements you have to pass your English and math class in order to be promoted for 10th grade you have to pass your English class your math class and then three other classes for 11th grade you will have to wishes to math one size six other classes as well as for 12th grade you have three English 3 math to science and nine other classes in order for you to be promoted you must pass those classes also we have majors and this year we will be implementing these State elective graduation seals of Distinction and we will begin our focus with helping you to understand what you want to do when you leave Heist that means if you plan to go to college for 2 years or 4 years then we have Partnerships right now with the Technical College of the Lowcountry South Carolina State University Claflin University and the University of South Carolina Beaufort so we have things place to make sure that you are college-ready if you're thinking about the military we have those officers that come on campus and those recruiters that really meet with you if it's about a career your job in the future we also have job skills we are connecting you with the Cake Center the new facility here as well as beaufort-jasper Academy for career Excellence BJ and we have all things in place for you to be successful college and career-ready also South Carolina Department of Education seals of Distinction we have it's like certificates that go on to your diploma you can get and Arnold seal of Distinction that goes along with any advanced course work that you may take career seals of Distinction that for your C-TEC course completers and they also look at your GPA you make it a specialized still based on stem the military arts and your GPA and then also your college ready seal and then we have also a state employee ability credibility credential still that you may have also we have a total of 23 career clusters between arcade center in Beaufort Jasper days are BJ's dinner for you to take a career and be a complete her so we have great things a lots of Majors here that will help you along the way to be successful where are you vent and that's the moment that you've all been kind of waiting on right now we are planning for our senior to come in and take their photos of the location right is is our dinner the lobby are this begins on Thursday July 29th all males will enter in from 9 until until 3 on Tuesday August 3rd we will have all females come in and take their photos that's from 9 until 3 on Wednesday August 4th we have a makeup day for all of those who were not able to make it July 29th or August 3rd you can come in on August 4th from 9 to 1 and make up your photo syncb is $35 and you must bring that or pay it online when you are here to take your picture also we have those students that are part of the band so we do have a band camp that will start a student Leadership Camp will begin Tuesday July 20th 1 to 4 and will end Thursday July 22nd 1 to 4 also I marching band camp Monday July 26th from 7:45 to 5 Tuesday July 27th 7:45 to 5 and also Wednesday and Thursday July 28th and July 29th 7:45 until 5 it will carry over into Monday August 2nd 3rd August 4th and August 5th from 7:45 a.m. until 5 p.m. the band instructor is Mister Ryan Jackson and you can send an email or reach out to him if you have any for all of us students 9 through 12 grade a laptop distribution will take place very soon but please make sure that you go online and you pay that text me which is $35 please make sure that once you come that you print that receipt off as well as making sure that you have the proper documentation for us to check we have to verify your current address and information so please bring your current utility bill for your address verify patient and also please be sure to complete all online registration in advance so that it will be no problem for you to pick up your laptop every student is required to have a laptop and that is what you will bring to school everyday cuz we will be using them the distribution dates will be August 10th through the 12th from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. we will start the area in the car rider line if he becomes very large how to extend it to a gymnasium so please stop by the school on those days after you have completed everything online and you have your verification so that we can get you connected our district events we will be well we've already started out online registration all students within the district must register online so you will log into www.jcfcu.org and click the box for the online registration and all of those steps for those students who will need bus transportation there is a form Student Bus Transportation request when you log into www.jcfcu.org you will click on that box for the student transfer to request form and then follow through with those steps we will have a back-to-school vaccination Blast for students 12 years or older we will also be a culminating a welcome-back kickoff that will who plays on Friday August 6th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and that will be on the Hardeeville Ridgeland Campus hardeeville-ridgeland Middle School gym will be where the vaccination black glass will take place for open house after open house that will take place on Saturday August 7th from 9 until 12 p.m. that will give our parents and students an opportunity to meet and greet the administrative team support Personnel teachers as well also you'll be able to pick up your class schedule are 9 through 12 grade students and if you need assistance we will assist you with paying any online fees as well as any registration stop by on that day and that is Saturday August 7th also we have a plethora of athletic events taking place at this time we have football practice is going on volleyball practice is going scrimmages taken place we have basket camps for girls and some of my boys as well as the weightlifting and conditioning so please check it out website and see all of the things that are happening right here at school again as we state always need our parents to be involved and in that aspect we need your help we need officers without School Improvement Council a parent teacher Association week until monthly meetings and we need your help we want a community to be aware but we also want you to assist it takes all of us I stakeholder our parents our community and we're asking
