Kelly bar the rhhs administration faculty and staff we are honored that you are here for the commencement exercises for the class of t22 I am not as a winner and I will serve as your host for tonight's graduation ceremony at this time Benji Lewis will come before us and officially greet you so I commit in the ceremony of 2022 Madam chair of Jasper County school board members of the Board of Trustees dr. Anderson or superintendent dr. whack or Decker Deputy superintendent Mexicali bar or principal faculty and staff it is my honor to welcome you welcome each and every one of you to the graduation for the 2022 the class of 2022 was resilient and completed their academic studies despite being virtual for half of her high school years during the covid-19 pandemic it has been fun countless memories we are proud to share this moment with all of you today I like to take this moment to thank and welcome her parents and family members that are here to support us in person as well as those Vienna Austria live stream Jaguar nation is always in support of us and our academic endeavors on behalf of a principal mr. bar the rhhs team Administration team faculty and staff we welcome you to the graduation survey one of the best classes in the Jaguar family thank you time we want to pause and dedicate a moment of silence for the events that are occurring around the world and in our community we are positive in honor of the recent tragedies that have occurred especially for Young Scholars at Robb Elementary School in Texas this time please pause for a moment of silence at this time we will have our principal mr. Kelly bar to come forward introduce our valedictorian and salutatorian thank you it is with great pleasure that I briefly introduce the valedictorian salutatorian for the High School class of 2022 Tyler Fuller on salutatorian is a resident of the Hardeeville community and the son of Lakeisha cassilly Tyler plans to pursue his education at the University of South Carolina Beaufort we were major in Business Administration and cybersecurity Candace Riley our valedictorian is a resident or the original community and is a daughter of Dennis and Deanna Lynn Raleigh Genesis band for the numerous scholarships and she plans to attend Furman University located in Greenville South Carolina where she plans to major in biology and biomedical Sciences ladies and gentlemen are presenting song lose the others all salutatorian Tyler Fuller and after recognition of distinguished guests then our valedictorian Candace Raleigh demon staff faculty family friends after the last class to hold the title to original Hardin High School the class of 2022 baby got it set up the big moment age of Our Lives we start a new chapter here at Regional High School offer some on a different Journey that brought you here restart on a blank slate and now today we can all say that we I'm not going to school you're able to do something that no other class here at Region hard Mahaska is dying that's called making history my name is Tyler Posey and I'm Yours 2022 students are a 4D result High School I like to give a special shout-out to the man above my family and of course the marvelous class of 2022 and everyone who has helped me get where I am today over the years it grew closer many US consider each other's family now this is a Bittersweet experience people you know your whole life and see almost everyday or now I'm right now I'm about to New Journey new laws but no matter what it is you do always do anything else you always believe and know that you can achieve what is you desire y'all been waiting on this moment and I'm ready to tell you now is your time so will you stop before the challenge and can continue to do you like never before will you turn your dreams to reality is honestly all of the yard would that mean to say I'm going to end up on this meat meal once a week we'll talk like this I got a guy like that to sound like this no matter the time we spent waiting for this you think I do. Edward Johnson South Carolina virtual school and if I mention any if I forgot to mention you please stand if not thank you now we will have our valedictorian address from Candace Riley it has been my pleasure to serve as your mistress of Ceremonies we would join our class after the valedictorian address the remainder of the ceremony after the Valiant address will be conducted by Mr Kelly Bara principal thank you thank you thank you to our honorable mayor mr. malphrus thank you to my dear friend The Honorable mayor of Hardeeville mr. Harry Williams thank you to our superintendent dr. Anderson and our principal mr. Barr thank you to all extraordinary staff of teachers administrators counselors cooks and custodians thank you to the teachers that have put their time and effort into helping us get to this point in our lives I would like to say a special thank you to the teacher you were there for me all four years of my high school career Danny Miss V Miss Rubino Ms to really thank you so much for your help and support and everything that I did your truly went above and beyond to help me get to where I am today thank you I would like to say a special thank you to the brave men and women of our police force who Guard and Patrol our school to ensure that we safe and protected thank you good evening everyone I am Candace Riley and I am ever so happy and grateful to be standing here with you tonight as we this momentous occasion welcome to all of the friends and family members who have come here tonight to show your love and support to the graduating class of 2022 and now please indulge me as I say a few personal thank yous before I begin my speech it is with a grateful heart and with a deep awareness of my very Foundation that I say to my tribe of the aroma into the ancient land of my birth nearest Ethiopia Africa thank you thank you because you loved me you loved me enough to let me go because of the ravages of war the immense Devastation of poverty and the seismic level of a catastrophic famine that kept my ancestral you let me go you let me go and hope and on the wing of a prayer that I might Escape that I might survive that I might succeed and for that either. I say thank you to the United States Erica how I wish that I could make you understand the depth of my gratitude it was you that opened your Mighty arms and with Grace and dignity you welcome to me and my sister into a nation that would heal my wounds restore my hope and point me in direction of a dream come true and for that I say thank you and now I would like to acknowledge my family to my dad thank you for your love and support of our family I always working so hard to my siblings her husband Joseph Rose her husband Micah and to my sister Hannah I love you all so much you are the greatest part of my life my joy and I can't tell you guys how happy I am that we are siblings now before I go on I would like to say a special thank you to my mom my very first teacher mom thank you so much for your love and support thank you for always being here and for your constant dedication without you going to be here where I am today. I love you so much and now for my message to you my fellow graduates of the class of 2022 tonight I stand before you I am your class president president the Beta Club president of Our National Honor Society and this year's valedictorian I am ADD orange and draped in commemorative soles and colorful cords mark my accomplishments as I present my cell before you this evening because I have something important that I would like to share with you tonight I'm going to tell you my story so that you will be encouraged and made to know that we are all in this together you are never alone you are never without hope 13 years ago I was living in an Ethiopian orphanage along with my sister and many other orphaned children no one knew when I was born but the guesstimation was that I was five years old and a birth date was assigned I weighed about 27 lb my diet was mostly starches potatoes pasta and rice there no toys no television no candy I owned nothing I wore oversized plastic shoes I wear mismatched clothes with the Red Jumpsuit generous donations and shared by every like I had lost everything my parents my family my home and my security my parent but one day my sister and I were put on a jet plane headed for the United States and into the in arms of a brand new life where I would be homeschooled until the 8th grade Broward learn to speak English and why I fell in love with books I believe that a cheap mint is not conquered alone we all stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before Our intention and success are found in their experience and their songs and Anna saying that they lived by such as I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet a message to you is one of Hope one of understanding that no matter what the headlines say no matter what trouble may come to you you were born for such a time as this you are so blessed and capable and today graduate and head out into your future realized that there will be days ahead of you that will cause you heartache and trouble and disappointment life is tough but so are you my mom told me to take all that pain and put it in my backpack and to go climb my mountain with it be a boss show it what you are made of do not give in to the temptation of stuffing it into a pillowcase and falling asleep because it will be there when you wake up this is your God given life no matter what happened in your past moving to your tomorrow with strength of character and a stubborn conviction that you are now responsible for the decisions you make take this gift you've been given of a free education and build on it say thank you when that diploma is probably put into your hand our world needs us there is a calling on your life for leadership it is our time to move into the world as adults of high moral character be Dependable be honorable be righteous stand up for what is good and true and godly rise up and take your place as respectable responsible adults 60 years ago President John F Kennedy spoke to the nation at his inauguration ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country graduating class of 2020 to take your diploma and take your place go out into the world and do something wonderful Make Your Mark take your stand and make the world and whatever it is around you a better place than you found it and now lastly and most importantly I would like to call upon the Lord God who pronounces blessing upon his people so long ago may the Lord bless you and keep you may he make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace graduating class of 2020 to go and have a wonderful night and a great life thank you greetings to our superintendent dr. Anderson or Deputy superintendent dr. wax Junior Board of Trustees district office staff rhhs staff other Jasper County School District employees students family members friends all stakeholders of jcsd and spreads to the honorees of this evening the Jaguar class of 2022 we should celebrate today because we have over 135 students leaving the Jaguars again who are prepared to be tomorrow's leaders who was it before I College and Career readiness the school counselors senior advisors administrators and other staff members along with Guardians and other stakeholders at work very hard with this class this was the class that completed two years of virtual instruction despite the pandemic they've been resilient and upset records and our school's history best of all this is my first graduating class in South Carolina as a principal or ridgeland-hardeeville high school and I am indeed delighted BBQ special presentations each year we recognize 3 Jaguar for their service and commitment to our school with a class like this it was difficult to make these elections as we have many exhibit many who exhibit Jaguar Pride daily today we will salute for Jaguars with RJ Ward Ward the Jaguar Spirit leadership award is for a student who exemplifies Great Character and Leadership skills at all times they are not concerned about the spotlight but they have school pride in walked demonstrating that Pride the first recipient has been instrumental to the success of our leadership program she has stepped in and take his Student Activities to another level this year for our school she can countless hours to watch school without any hesitation she is always a joy to have around this year's first Jaguar Spirit leadership award goes to an extraordinary young lady Kimora Aiken please come forward please continue to give Kimora Round of Applause when she comes before wheel the recipient has also been a great Jaguar contributor this dude has helped out in many Student Activities areas she assisted daily during the Student Activities Department Endeavors and ensured that initiatives were carried out with our various speakers this year's Jaguar Spirit leadership award goes to another extraordinary young lady Nigeria night and please come forward please give my jewelry Round of Applause that she comes the third recipient has also been a great Jaguar contributor this dude it is I'm by the entire class she is the spirit of the class she is the Mover and the Shaker to participated actively is Student Activity events and always was a life of the class this is the third check warspear leadership award goes to another extraordinary young lady Tatiana Hayward who's going forward thank you Obama was sleeping for the night has also been a great Jaguar contributor from 9th grade to her senior year students always ready to help out and to ensure that activity has done all done around school she is very polite and a caring individual she has evolved into a model Jaguar this year's final recipient is Taniya Cunningham Plato forward ladies and Gentlemen please give all about Jaguars play what are the symptoms of Round of Applause with service towards School and now for the moment we've all been waiting for this is the main reason I stand before you class of 2022 please stand Plaza 2022 it is a special day in Jasper County we are extremely proud of your accomplishments you should be proud as well at this moment it is my hope that you would do the same as you prepare to be tomorrow's leaders and enter into adulthood and begin to make a difference and its Global Society the class as of yesterday was a water over 5 million dollars in scholarships the family of JC as he believes in you and we are optimistic about your future doctor wack please don't forward do you want to pretend the doctor Anderson dr.
