MISS RIDGELAND-HARDEEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL crowned in Annual Coronation and Pageant

RIDGELAND- Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School held its annual MISS Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School pageant on Saturday, October 7, 2017, crowning MISS Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School, Mr. & MISS Black & Red, and MISS Jaguar. The pageant featured five outstanding contestants for MISS Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School vying to win the crown for 2017. Contestants were Deviya Wright, Ashaunti Rucker, Kalauna Simmons, Angel Jackson and Alexis Mungin.

Schedule Update

The Jasper County School District will operate on a two-hour schedule delay for tomorrow, Monday, January 8;


Elementary school instruction time will begin at 9:30 am

Middle & High school instruction time will begin at 10:30 am

Central Services Staff report time - 10:00 am


Report Cards will be issued on Tuesday, January 16.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be rescheduled for a later date.

Marriot leaders present to CATE students

Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School is continuously preparing students for the opening of the new Career and Technology Education (CATE) facility. While students are working with hands-on projects daily, recently, students had the pleasure of meeting with leaders of Marriott Vacation Club Resorts.
RHHS Guidance Department Workbased Learning Program invited sponsored guest speakers from Marriott Vacation Club Resorts, Hilton Head Island to speak with students to highlight careers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry.

"Labor of Love" Day

RHHS hosted a "Labor of Love" Day for fathers on September 5, 2017. The JCSD, in partnership with a few of the education institutions in Jasper County conducted the "Labor of Love"-Million Father March.

Chronic Absenteeism

Beginning with the 2017-18 school year, a new definition of “absent” will be used to identify students who are chronically absent. As part of the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act, districts and schools are required to report to the South Carolina Department of Education the number of students who are chronically absent each year. According to the United States Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR), an absent student is one who misses 50 percent of the instructional day for any reason and regardless of whether the absence is excused or unexcused.

Grads explore Biomedical Science

Several graduates of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School have completed internships that have
allowed them to become more knowledgeable in their area of studies.
RHHS 2016 graduates, Kayla Hasty and Myrandi Roper, were paid interns this summer in the
Biomedical Science Research program at South Carolina State University.

Bostick enjoys internship with Washington River Protection Solutions

Tori Bostick, 2015 graduate of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High, had an amazing experience while serving as an intern at Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) in Richland, Washington. WRPS is responsible for managing Hanford, Washington’s 56 million gallons of highly radioactive waste and preparing it for delivery to the Waste Treatment Plant.
