Mrs. V’s greatest contributions and accomplishments in public education is the success of her students. With a growth mindset, she offers clear goals for students to pursue but gives them a voice and choice in their learning. “It is a great privilege for me to be part of Jasper County. Throughout my 34 years of teaching experience, and my 16th year at the Jasper County School District, it is clear to me that we are in the presence of greatness. As I continue this journey, I would like to leave a legacy and impact in education that will continue to spread far beyond school walls. This award is not about the recognition of an individual, it is the recognition of a community. Each of us, administration, students, family members, parents, staff, and teachers make up that community. The whole is far greater than any one part. We are a community that provides the environment and possibilities for students to succeed. Teaching has and will continue to be a dream in pursuit. Teaching at Jasper County provides continual learning, promotes student achievement and prepares for global competitiveness. By fostering educational excellence, students are provided a safe and beneficial learning environment aligned to college and career readiness. My dear RSAE scholars, as you embark on a new chapter of your life, always remember that learning does not stop inside the classroom. Every experience in life will teach you something.
